The GUHRING 9055150063500 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit sized at letter E (0.250 inches, 0.2500 decimal inch). It features a 140-degree split point (SU point type) with web thinning for self-centering entry, reducing the need for a center punch on most setups. The two-flute spiral design promotes efficient chip evacuation. A FIREX coating enhances surface hardness and wear resistance for extended tool life in demanding applications. Overall length is 91 mm with a 53 mm flute length and an 8 mm straight-cylindrical shank. This bit is rated as a high-performance, submicron carbide grade and is installed by machinists and tool-room technicians in production and maintenance environments.
This drill bit is engineered for use in cast iron and steel workpieces, covering primary material codes K and P. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral geometry make it well suited for through-hole and blind-hole drilling in both manual and CNC setups. With a maximum drilling depth of 43.48 mm (1.712 inches) and a shank length of 36 mm, it fits standard drill chucks and collet holders sized for 8 mm shanks. Series 5515 from GUHRING targets medium-to-high production runs where dimensional accuracy and tool life consistency are priorities.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces (material codes K and P per DIN classification). Conforms to DIN 6537 L and DIN 6535, making it dimensionally interchangeable with other tooling built to those standards. Compatible with any spindle or chuck accepting an 8 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
This tool is intended for installation by qualified machinists in CNC machining centers, drill presses, or manual mills with appropriate collet or chuck systems sized for 8 mm shanks. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing or inspecting the bit. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid lateral loading, side pressure, or interrupted cuts beyond the rated application. Verify runout and chuck concentricity before production use to protect the cutting edge and maintain hole tolerance.
