The GUHRING 9055150050000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production and machining environments. Built to DIN 6537 L standards, it features a 140-degree self-centering point geometry and a FIREX coating for extended tool life in abrasive and hard materials. The drill measures 0.1969 inches in diameter with an overall length of 82 millimeters and a flute length of 44 millimeters. The web-thinned, tapered web design reduces entry force and improves chip evacuation. This bit is installed by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and CNC operators working in production shops and maintenance environments.
This drill bit is suited for use in cast iron and steel workpiece materials, consistent with ISO material groups K and P. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and regular spiral flute geometry make it appropriate for moderate-depth drilling applications up to a maximum drilling depth of 36.50 millimeters (1.437 inches). A straight-cylindrical shank with a 6 millimeter shank diameter allows direct chucking in standard drill chucks, collet holders, and hydraulic toolholders. Series 5515 positions this bit in Guhring's high-performance carbide drill lineup for general metalworking and precision machining.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces (ISO material groups K and P). Compatible with standard straight-cylindrical shank toolholders, drill chucks, collet chucks, and hydraulic chucks accepting a 6 millimeter shank diameter.
Installation and operation should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the toolholder is clean and free of debris before chucking the bit. Carbide drills are brittle compared to high-speed steel — avoid side loads, interrupted cuts at high feed rates, or re-entering an existing hole off-center. Consult the machine manufacturer and applicable shop safety standards for proper speeds, feeds, and coolant practices for the workpiece material.
