The GUHRING 9055150049000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding ferrous materials. Built to DIN 6537L standards, it features a 140-degree split-point (SU) geometry with web thinning for self-centering entry without a pilot hole. The FIREX coating improves heat resistance and extends tool life in abrasive applications. At 4.9 mm in diameter with a 6.0 mm straight-cylindrical shank, it runs in standard drill chucks or collet holders. Two spiral flutes in a regular helix provide efficient chip evacuation. The overall length is 82.0 mm with a 44.0 mm flute length, supporting a maximum drilling depth of 40.0 mm.
This drill bit is rated for cast iron and steel workpiece materials, corresponding to material codes K and P. It is a high-performance, submicron-grade carbide tool suited to production machining, tool rooms, and maintenance shops where dimensional accuracy and tool life matter. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and tapered web configuration make it appropriate for through-hole and blind-hole drilling in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools when rigid fixturing is used. It is sold and packaged as a single unit.
Designed as a DIN 6537L Series 5515 jobber-length drill bit for use in cast iron and steel (material codes K and P). Fits any toolholder or drill chuck accepting a 6.0 mm straight-cylindrical shank.
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with carbide cutting tools. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before loading or removing the bit. Carbide tooling is brittle and should not be used in setups where lateral loading or tool deflection is likely, as this can cause chipping or fracture. Confirm shank seating depth and runout before beginning a production run.
