The GUHRING 9055140102000 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and machining applications. Built to DIN 6537K standards, this bit features a 0.4016 inch diameter, a 140-degree split point (SU type), and a web-thinned, parallel web configuration that reduces entry thrust and improves chip evacuation. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 12.00 mm in diameter, and the overall tool length is 102.00 mm. Two spiral flutes with a regular helix clear chips efficiently during operation. This bit is suited for machinists, tool and die technicians, and CNC operators working in production environments.
Designed for drilling cast iron and steel, this screw machine length bit is sized for short-reach, high-rigidity applications where stub length tools are preferred over jobber or extended-reach bits. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 39.70 mm maximum drilling depth make it well suited for through-holes and blind holes in workpiece materials requiring carbide hardness and edge retention. It fits into standard straight-shank toolholders and collet chucks used on CNC machining centers, drill presses, and gang drilling fixtures.
Designed as a DIN 6537K-compliant screw machine length drill bit for use in straight-shank toolholders and collet chucks; primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel as stated by the manufacturer.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and the machine locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully within the collet or chuck to the recommended engagement depth before applying torque to the retention mechanism. Verify spindle speed and feed rate are appropriate for carbide tooling in the target workpiece material before cycling the machine. Do not use this bit with a hammer drill or impact driver.
