The GUHRING 9055140095200 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built to DIN 6537 K standards, this 0.375 inch (3/8 inch) diameter bit features a 140-degree point angle with SU point geometry and web thinning for reduced thrust and cleaner entry. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 10.00 mm in diameter, and the overall tool length is 89.00 mm. With a parallel web configuration and regular spiral flute, this bit is suited for licensed machinists, tool and die professionals, and maintenance technicians working in metal fabrication or precision component production.
This drill bit is engineered for cutting cast iron and steel, making it a practical choice for production drilling, job shop work, and CNC machining centers where short, rigid tooling is preferred. The screw machine length profile offers increased rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, improving hole accuracy and reducing deflection in interrupted cuts or high-cycle applications. The coated finish extends tool life in abrasive workpiece materials. A maximum drilling depth of 1.288 inches (32.72 mm) and a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio support efficient chip evacuation in moderate-depth holes.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces. Fits standard straight-shank drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 10.00 mm shank diameter. Conforms to DIN 6537 K specification.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tool and die professionals familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the shank fully in a precision drill chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before high-cycle use. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid lateral loading, interrupted feeds without proper feed-rate management, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. Coolant-through is not supported on this tool; use external coolant or mist as required by the workpiece material and cutting conditions.
