The GUHRING 9055140060000 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding shop and production environments. Built to DIN 6537K standards, this Series 5514 bit features a 140-degree split point (SU point type) with web thinning for reduced thrust and improved centering. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6.00 mm in diameter and the overall tool length is 66.00 mm (approximately 2.6 inches). With a 2-flute regular spiral configuration and a coated finish, this bit delivers consistent performance in high-volume drilling operations on cast iron and steel. It is sold individually and intended for installation by machinists, tool-room technicians, and production drilling professionals.
This drill bit is suited for screw machine length drilling applications in ferrous materials including cast iron and steel. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 28.00 mm flute length support chip evacuation in short-depth drilling cycles. It is a strong fit for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production screw machines where tight tolerances and repeatable entry geometry are required. The drill bit diameter tolerance of plus 0.004 to plus 0.016 mm supports precision hole sizing. No coolant-through capability is present, so external coolant or cutting fluid application is recommended when drilling production runs in hard materials.
Designed as a screw machine length replacement or production drill bit for use in ferrous workpiece materials including cast iron and steel, per Series 5514 DIN 6537K geometry. Compatible with standard straight-shank chucks and collets accepting a 6.00 mm shank diameter.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or toolroom personnel familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank fully in a precision chuck or collet before operation and verify runout is within acceptable limits, as carbide is brittle and sensitive to lateral loading. Power down and de-energize the machine spindle before inserting or removing the bit. External cutting fluid or coolant is recommended for extended production runs since this bit does not feature coolant-through capability.
