The GUHRING 9055140031700 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and trade applications. Built to DIN 6537K standards, this bit features a 140-degree split point (SU point type) with web thinning for fast, accurate starts without a center punch. The 0.125-inch diameter bit runs a 2-flute regular spiral with a straight-cylindrical shank measuring 6.00 millimeters in diameter. Overall length is 62.00 millimeters, making it well-suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine operations where rigidity and precision are required.
This bit is rated for cutting cast iron and steel as primary workpiece materials. The screw machine length configuration provides a shorter, stiffer body compared to jobber-length bits, which reduces deflection and improves hole accuracy in tight setups or multi-spindle fixtures. Maximum drilling depth is 0.600 inches (15.23 millimeters) with a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio. The coated solid carbide construction handles the heat and wear demands of high-cycle production environments. It is installed and used by machinists, tool-and-die professionals, and precision fabrication shops.
Designed as a DIN 6537K screw machine length drill bit suitable for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and multi-spindle screw machines set up for cast iron and steel workpieces.
Installation and use of solid carbide drill bits should be performed by qualified machinists familiar with speeds, feeds, and fixturing for carbide tooling. Ensure the spindle and chuck or collet are clean and properly tightened before operation to prevent runout, which can chip carbide. Solid carbide bits are brittle compared to high-speed steel and must not be used in setups with excessive vibration or lateral load. Follow machine tool manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when handling and storing carbide cutting tools.
