The GUHRING 9055120140000 is a taper length solid carbide drill bit in the Series 5512 line, engineered for demanding hole-making in hard and abrasion-resistant materials. The bit measures 14 mm (0.5512 inches) in diameter with a 140-degree point angle and a 182 mm (7.165 inches) overall length. A TiAlN coating provides thermal resistance and extended tool life during high-speed drilling operations. The 7xD flute-length-to-diameter ratio supports deeper hole applications while the coolant-through design delivers cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians working in precision manufacturing environments are the primary users of this bit.
This drill bit is rated for use in brass, cast iron, hard materials, nickel alloys, stainless steel, carbon and alloy steel, and titanium alloys. The SU point geometry with web thinning allows self-centering entry without a pilot hole in many setups, reducing cycle time in production drilling. A straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.5512-inch shank diameter seats in standard drill chucks or collet toolholders. Maximum recommended drilling depth is 112 mm (4.409 inches).
Designed as a Series 5512 OEM-specification replacement and new-install drill bit compatible with standard straight-shank drill chucks and precision collet toolholders accepting a 14 mm (0.5512 inch) shank diameter. Suited for CNC machining centers and manual drill presses equipped for coolant-through tooling.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with carbide tooling practices. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are fully powered down and locked out before loading or removing the bit. Solid carbide is brittle — avoid side loads, interrupted cuts without appropriate feed adjustments, and dropping the tool on hard surfaces. Verify coolant-through passages are clear and pressure is within the machine's specified range before running the first cycle.
