The GUHRING 9055120091300 is a solid carbide taper length drill bit engineered for demanding metal-cutting applications. It features a 140-degree split point (SU type) with web thinning for self-centering entry, eliminating the need for a center punch on most materials. The straight shank measures 0.3937 inches in diameter, while the cutting diameter is 0.3594 inches (23/64 inches). With a 7xD flute-to-diameter ratio, this bit handles depths up to 3.201 inches (81.31 mm) without parabolic flute compromise. Internal coolant-through capability keeps cutting temperatures controlled at the tip. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and industrial maintenance professionals rely on this geometry in high-production drilling operations.
This drill bit is suited for through-hole and blind-hole drilling in difficult-to-machine materials including stainless steel, hardened materials, nickel alloy, titanium alloy, cast iron, brass, and steel. The coolant-through design makes it well matched for CNC machining centers and automated drilling fixtures where internal coolant supply is available. The Series 5512 designation conforms to DIN 6537 standards, placing it in a recognized specification for solid carbide taper length drills used in both job-shop and production environments.
Designed as an OEM-style taper length drill for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automated fixtures equipped with straight-shank toolholders or collet chucks accepting a 0.3937-inch shank diameter. Rated for brass, cast iron, hardened materials, nickel alloy, stainless steel, steel, and titanium alloy per manufacturer material application data.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with carbide tooling handling. Carbide is brittle — avoid impact or side-loading during chuck insertion. Verify that the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm internal coolant pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the material and feed rate being run.
