The GUHRING 9055120063500 is a solid carbide taper length drill bit from the Series 5512 line, designed for demanding precision drilling in hard and difficult-to-machine materials. It carries a Letter E designation with a decimal diameter of 0.2500 inches and a shank diameter of 0.3150 inches. The 140-degree split-point (SU) geometry promotes self-centering entry without a center punch. A TiAlN coating extends tool life in high-heat applications. Coolant-through capability allows internal coolant delivery directly to the cutting edge, reducing heat and chip evacuation issues during deep-hole work. This bit is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machining centers and drilling fixtures.
This drill bit is suited for production and precision drilling in stainless steel, steel, cast iron, nickel alloy, titanium alloy, brass, and other hard materials. The tapered web configuration combined with web thinning reduces thrust and improves chip flow in long-reach applications. With a flute length of approximately 2.598 inches (66 mm) and an overall length of approximately 4.173 inches (106 mm), it fits standard straight-shank toolholders and collet chucks commonly found in vertical and horizontal machining centers. Maximum drilling depth reaches 2.224 inches (56.48 mm), making it appropriate for through-holes and moderately deep blind holes in tough alloys.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new installation for straight-shank toolholding systems requiring a 0.3150-inch shank diameter. Suitable for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and fixture drilling setups configured for Letter E or 0.2500-inch diameter tooling in stainless steel, nickel alloy, titanium alloy, and similar hard-material applications.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist familiar with carbide tooling and CNC or manual drilling equipment. Ensure the toolholder and collet are clean and undamaged before seating the shank to the specified engagement depth. Carbide is brittle — avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed rates, or running the tool in a worn or out-of-true spindle. Confirm coolant-through supply lines are active before drilling if internal coolant delivery is required for the application.
