The GUHRING 9055120055600 is a solid carbide taper length drill bit designed for demanding precision drilling applications in metal fabrication and machining environments. It measures 0.2188 inches (7/32 inch) in diameter with a 140-degree split point and a spiral flute configuration. The straight shank measures 0.2362 inches in diameter and is compatible with standard chuck systems. A coolant-through design supports high-speed production drilling by channeling cutting fluid directly to the cutting edge, extending tool life and improving chip evacuation. This bit is installed and operated by machinists, tool-and-die specialists, and maintenance technicians working with precision metal components.
This drill bit is engineered for use in a wide range of materials including steel, stainless steel, cast iron, hardened materials, brass, nickel alloy, and titanium alloy. Its web-thinned, tapered web configuration reduces thrust force during entry and promotes self-centering starts without a center punch in many applications. With a flute-length-to-diameter ratio of 7xD and a maximum drilling depth of 1.916 inches (48.66 mm), it is well suited to through-hole and deep-hole operations in both manual and CNC machine setups across production and job-shop environments.
Designed for use in compatible materials including brass, cast iron, hardened materials, nickel alloy, stainless steel, steel, and titanium alloy. Straight shank fits standard drill chucks and collet systems that accept a 0.2362-inch shank diameter. Part of the GUHRING Series 5512 taper length program.
This bit is intended for use by trained machinists in manually operated or CNC drilling equipment. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the workpiece is securely fixtured before bit changes. Verify chuck or collet runout is within acceptable tolerance before use, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on carbide tooling. Follow machine manufacturer guidelines and applicable shop safety standards when operating coolant-through tooling.
