The GUHRING 9055120049000 is a taper length, solid carbide drill bit engineered for demanding industrial and commercial machining applications. Built on the Series 5512 platform, it features a 0.1929 inch (4.90 mm) diameter, a 140-degree split-point (SU) tip, and a FIREX coating designed to extend tool life in hard and abrasive materials. The straight shank measures 6.00 mm in diameter, and the overall length is 90.00 mm with a 50.00 mm flute length at a 7xD ratio. Coolant-through construction supports high-speed, deep-hole drilling where chip evacuation and heat management are critical. A right-hand spiral flute with web thinning and parallel web configuration round out the geometry.
This drill bit is suited for production machining environments where tight tolerances and consistent tool performance across difficult workpiece materials are required. The FIREX coating and submicron solid carbide grade make it appropriate for drilling stainless steel, hardened materials, nickel alloys, titanium alloys, cast iron, brass, and carbon steel. Typical install scenarios include CNC machining centers and manual drill press setups in aerospace, automotive, and general metal fabrication shops. The diameter tolerance of +0.004 to +0.016 mm supports precision bore requirements common in close-tolerance assemblies.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and drill presses accepting straight shank tooling with a 6.00 mm shank diameter. Rated for drilling brass, cast iron, hardened materials, nickel alloys, stainless steel, carbon steel, and titanium alloys per manufacturer material application data.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power isolated. Confirm chuck or collet bore matches the 6.00 mm straight shank diameter before clamping. Coolant-through setups require the machine spindle to be equipped with internal coolant delivery to take full advantage of the through-coolant design. Follow applicable shop safety standards and machine tool manufacturer guidelines when selecting feeds and speeds for the workpiece material.
