The GUHRING 9055110153000 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in cast iron and steel. Built to DIN 6537L standards, it features a 140-degree split-point (SU) tip geometry and a FIREX coating that extends tool life under demanding cutting conditions. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 16.00 mm in diameter and 48.00 mm in length. Coolant-through capability supports chip evacuation and heat control during deep-hole operations. With a flute-to-diameter ratio of 5xD and a web-thinned, tapered web configuration, this bit is engineered for self-centering entry and consistent hole quality. Licensed HVAC, mechanical, and industrial trades use this tool in CNC and manual drilling applications.
This drill bit is suited for production and maintenance drilling in ferrous materials, particularly cast iron and steel workpieces. The 15.3 mm diameter and 83.00 mm flute length make it well matched for structural, tooling, and fabrication work where dimensional accuracy and tool longevity are critical. The FIREX coating provides oxidation resistance and reduced friction, extending performance in interrupted cuts and dry or minimal-lubrication environments. The Series 5511 platform targets high-feed, high-speed applications where solid carbide outperforms HSS alternatives.
Designed as an OEM-specification replacement or direct-use solid carbide drill bit for machining cast iron and steel workpieces per DIN 6537L, Series 5511 platform. Compatible with CNC machining centers and manual drilling equipment fitted with 16.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank toolholders or collets.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide tooling handling practices. Secure the shank fully within the toolholder to the specified grip depth before operating. Inspect the cutting edges and FIREX coating for chips or wear before each use, as solid carbide is brittle and susceptible to damage from improper handling or re-chucking. Activate coolant-through supply prior to engaging the workpiece to prevent thermal shock to the carbide substrate.
