The GUHRING 9055110134900 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and trade applications. Built to DIN 6537 L and DIN 6535 standards, this bit features a 140-degree split-point (SU) tip geometry with web thinning for self-centering entry, eliminating the need for a center punch on most setups. The FIREX coating provides heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in abrasive materials. At 0.5313 inches in diameter with a 124 mm overall length and 77 mm flute length, it delivers a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio suited to precision hole-making in production environments. Typically installed by machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and heavy-trade professionals.
This bit is engineered for drilling cast iron and steel, covering primary workpiece material codes K and P. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 14 mm in diameter and 45 mm in length, making it compatible with standard drill chucks and collet systems used in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools with appropriate chuck capacity. The 2-flute spiral design supports chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole applications. Coolant-through capability is included, supporting high-speed production drilling where coolant delivery through the spindle is available. Maximum drilling depth is 56.77 mm (2.235 inches).
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces (material codes K and P). The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders sized for 14 mm shank diameter. Series 5511, 5xD flute ratio.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or trade professionals familiar with carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before operation and verify runout before drilling. Carbide is brittle — avoid lateral loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed adjustment, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces. When using coolant-through capability, confirm spindle coolant pressure and flow rate are within the machine's rated specifications before starting.
