The GUHRING 9055110099000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding production environments. Built to DIN 6537L standards, this Series 5511 drill features a 9.9 mm diameter, a 140-degree split point (SU type), and a FIREX coating engineered to extend tool life when cutting ferrous materials. The web-thinned, tapered web design reduces entry force and improves chip evacuation. Coolant-through capability makes it well suited for high-speed, deep-hole applications where heat buildup is a concern. This bit is sized at 0.3898 decimal inch diameter with a 4.0551-inch overall length and a 2.4016-inch flute length.
This drill bit is intended for machining cast iron and steel, covering material grade codes K and P. It performs in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and automated production lines where consistent hole quality and tight tolerances are required. The straight-cylindrical shank seats reliably in standard drill chucks and toolholders. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio, it handles drilling depths up to 1.817 inches (46.15 mm) before chip management becomes a limiting factor. This tool is appropriate for tool crib, job shop, and manufacturing floor use where submicron carbide grade material is specified.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct substitution for Series 5511 jobber-length carbide drills in the 9.00 mm to 10.00 mm size range. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel (material codes K and P).
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured with appropriate clamping force before beginning a drilling operation. Verify that the coolant-through circuit is active and delivering adequate flow before running at elevated feed rates. Follow the tool manufacturer and machine builder guidelines for speeds, feeds, and maximum drilling depth per pass.
