The GUHRING 9055110089000 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding industrial and trades applications. Built to DIN 6537 L standards, it features a 140-degree split point (SU type) with web thinning for self-centering entry and reduced thrust. The FIREX coating provides enhanced heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in abrasive materials. At 4.0551 inches overall length with a 2.4016-inch flute, this bit delivers reliable performance in production and maintenance drilling environments. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die technicians, and maintenance mechanics are the primary users.
This drill bit is rated for cast iron and steel workpieces, covering material codes K and P. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and maximum drilling depth of 1.876 inches make it well suited for through-hole and blind-hole applications in ferrous metals. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed, deep drilling operations where chip evacuation and heat management are critical. The straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders sized for a 0.3937-inch shank diameter.
Designed as a Series 5511 jobber length drill bit per DIN 6537 L, compatible with standard drill chucks and collet holders accepting a 0.3937-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel.
Installation and use should be performed by qualified machinists or maintenance mechanics familiar with carbide tooling. Ensure the machine spindle and chuck are fully secured and the workpiece is rigidly clamped before beginning any drilling operation. Coolant-through setups require a compatible spindle coolant system to be active before engaging the cut. Carbide tooling is brittle — avoid lateral loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed rates, or dropping the bit, as chipping or fracture can result.
