The GUHRING 9055110063000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in cast iron and steel. Built to DIN 6537L standards, this bit features a FIREX coating for extended tool life and thermal resistance. The 140-degree split point (SU point type) with web thinning enables self-centering entry without a center punch, reducing setup time on production floors. With a submicron carbide grade and regular spiral flute geometry, it delivers consistent chip evacuation at elevated feed rates. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die workers, and CNC operators working with ferrous materials will find this bit suited to demanding production environments.
This drill bit is built for drilling cast iron and steel in both manual and CNC machining applications. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and coolant-through capability make it effective in deep-hole drilling setups where chip clearing and heat management are critical. The straight-cylindrical shank fits standard drill chucks and collet holders. It is appropriate for job shop, production machining, and maintenance-repair operations requiring consistent hole quality in tough ferrous workpiece materials.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces (material grade codes K and P). Compatible with standard straight-cylindrical shank drill chucks and collet systems accepting an 8 mm (0.3150 inch) shank diameter. Part of the Guhring Series 5511 high-performance carbide drill line.
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or CNC operators familiar with carbide tooling requirements. Ensure the machine spindle and tool holder are clean and properly secured before mounting. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm that coolant pressure and flow rate are appropriate for the machining setup before starting the cut. Avoid running carbide tooling without proper feed-and-speed parameters, as interrupted or dry cuts can cause premature chipping or breakage.
