The GUHRING 9055110053000 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. Built to DIN 6537L standards, it features a 140-degree split point (SU point type) with web thinning for self-centering entry and reduced thrust. The bit is coated with FIREX, a multilayer PVD coating that extends tool life in abrasive and hard materials. At 0.2087 inches in diameter with a 3.2283-inch overall length, it suits precision production drilling where consistency and hole quality matter. Journeyman machinists and CNC operators are the primary installers of this bit.
This drill bit is engineered for cutting cast iron and steel, corresponding to ISO material groups K and P. Its coolant-through design delivers cutting fluid directly to the tip, making it well suited for deep-hole drilling on machining centers and CNC lathes where internal coolant supply is available. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling up to 1.419 inches deep per pass. The straight-cylindrical shank at 0.2362 inches diameter fits standard ER collets and drill chucks without modification, making it compatible with both manual and automated setups.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces (ISO material groups K and P). The straight-cylindrical shank is compatible with standard ER collet chucks and drill chucks sized for a 0.2362-inch shank diameter. Part of GUHRING Series 5511, covering drill bit sizes from 0.2000 to 0.2500 inches.
Installation is performed by machinists and CNC setup technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the coolant system is off before loading or removing the bit from the tool holder. Verify collet or chuck runout is within acceptable tolerance before use, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on carbide tooling. Internal coolant supply should be confirmed active before beginning deep-hole drilling cycles to prevent thermal damage to the cutting edge.
