The GUHRING 9055100081000 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit engineered for high-performance metal cutting in demanding production environments. With an 8.10 mm (0.3189 inch) diameter, a 140-degree split point, and a web-thinned SU point geometry, this bit delivers fast starts and precise hole entry with minimal thrust. The two-flute spiral design and through-coolant capability support efficient chip evacuation and heat management in deep-hole applications. At 89.00 mm overall length with a 10.00 mm straight-cylindrical shank, it is sized for use in CNC machining centers and screw machine setups. Licensed machinists and tool-and-die professionals are the primary installers.
This drill bit is designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces in production and job shop machining environments. The screw machine length body keeps the bit rigid in short-reach applications, reducing deflection during high-feed drilling cycles. The through-coolant channels allow coolant delivery directly to the cutting edge, making this bit well suited for stacked-part drilling, blind-hole work, and materials that generate significant heat at the cutting zone. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports drilling to a maximum depth of 44.00 mm in a single pass without peck cycles in most setups.
Designed as an OEM-style solid carbide screw machine drill for use in CNC machining centers, screw machines, and drill presses equipped with through-coolant spindle capability; primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel per manufacturer specification.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the spindle fully stopped and machine power locked out per facility LOTO procedures. Ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped to the correct runout tolerance in the toolholder before operation. Through-coolant pressure should be set according to machine and toolholder specifications before initiating a drilling cycle. Inspect the cutting edges for chipping before each use, as carbide tooling is brittle and susceptible to damage from interrupted cuts or improper handling.
