The GUHRING 9055100073000 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in cast iron and steel. Built to DIN 6537K standards, this bit features a 140-degree split point (SU type) with web thinning for reduced thrust and cleaner entry. The straight-cylindrical shank seats securely in standard drill chucks and collets. At 0.2874 inches (7.30 mm) in diameter with a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio, it is suited for shops and field work where short, rigid tooling is required. Coolant-through design supports extended tool life in production environments. Two spiral flutes provide efficient chip evacuation in ferrous materials.
This bit is intended for machining cast iron and steel in screw machine, CNC, and manual drilling operations where a compact, stub-length drill is preferred for rigidity. The screw machine length body reduces deflection in short-reach setups and in applications where hole depth is limited. Maximum drilling depth is 38.00 mm (approximately 1.50 inches). The Series 5510 designation places this within a high-performance carbide drill line manufactured to tight diameter tolerances of plus 0.006 to plus 0.021 mm.
Designed for use in cast iron and steel workpieces. Primary applications include screw machine operations, CNC machining centers, and manual drill presses where a 7.30 mm (0.2874 inch) diameter hole is required and stub-length tooling is specified.
Installation and use of carbide drill bits should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with speeds, feeds, and fixturing for carbide tooling. Secure the shank fully in the collet or chuck to the manufacturer-recommended engagement depth before operation. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped before loading or removing the bit. When using the coolant-through feature, confirm coolant supply lines are connected and pressurized to the machine specification before starting the cut.
