The GUHRING 9055100039700 is a solid carbide screw machine length drill bit designed for high-performance drilling in cast iron and steel. It measures 0.1562 inches (5/32 inch) in diameter with a 140-degree split point (SU point type) that reduces thrust and prevents walking at entry. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 6.00 millimeters and the overall length is 66.00 millimeters, keeping the tool compact for short-hole and production drilling applications. Two spiral flutes with web thinning evacuate chips efficiently, and the coated carbide substrate handles the abrasion demands of ferrous materials. Coolant-through capability supports high-speed, deep-hole cycles where heat buildup is a concern. This bit is suited to CNC machining centers, drill presses, and production screw machine setups operated by machinists and tool-and-die professionals.
This drill bit is built for production environments where tight tolerances and consistent hole quality in ferrous workpieces are required. Its screw machine (stub) length provides increased rigidity compared to jobber-length bits, making it a practical choice for CNC drilling cycles targeting cast iron components, carbon steel parts, and alloy steel stock. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and parallel web configuration are well matched to shallow-to-moderate depth holes up to 20.00 millimeters. It conforms to DIN 6537 K specification, so it fits standard toolholding systems dimensioned to that standard.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers, production drill presses, and screw machine setups using standard straight-cylindrical shank toolholders dimensioned to DIN 6537 K. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel.
This drill bit is installed and serviced by machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are fully powered down and locked out before inserting or removing the bit. Verify the straight-cylindrical shank seats fully and is clamped to the toolholder manufacturer specifications before initiating a cycle. Coolant-through setups should confirm coolant passage is clear and pressure is within the machine tool specification before running at full feed and speed.
