The GUHRING 9042640063500 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance material removal in demanding machining applications. Built on GUHRING Series 4264 with an ultra-fine grain carbide substrate, this single-end tool features 5 helical flutes with a close pitch and a 45-degree helix angle. The cutting diameter is 0.25 inches with a 0.004-inch chamfer width and a 45-degree chamfer angle. A FIREX PVD coating — a TiAlN and TiN multilayer system — provides thermal resistance and extended tool life when cutting ferrous and exotic materials. Centercutting geometry enables direct plunging without a pre-drilled pilot hole.
This end mill is suited for a wide range of milling operations including shouldering, slotting, ramp-down milling, helical interpolation, drill milling, and plunging and recessing. Its primary workpiece materials are steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys including titanium. Secondary applications cover non-ferrous metals and hard materials. The long flute length of 1.25 inches and straight cylindrical shank make it appropriate for CNC machining centers and manual knee mills where extended reach into deep features is needed. It is used by machinists in aerospace, tool-and-die, and general metalworking environments.
Designed as a direct-fit replacement or new installation for CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting a 0.25-inch straight cylindrical shank with h6 tolerance. Compatible with tool holders and collets specified for 0.25-inch shank diameters. Primary workpiece materials: steel (P), stainless steel (M), cast iron (K), superalloys and titanium (S). Secondary: non-ferrous metals (N) and hard materials (H).
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Seat the shank fully into the collet or tool holder and torque the retention mechanism according to the tool holder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut, as excessive runout will accelerate edge wear on fine-grain carbide tools.
