The GUHRING 9041280254000 is a helical flute thread mill designed for cutting internal UNC threads in a single helical interpolation pass. Built from solid carbide and coated with titanium carbonitride (TiCN), it delivers extended tool life in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The 4-flute, right-hand flute geometry produces 1-8 UNC internal threads with a cutting diameter of 0.6210 inches and a length of cut of 1.9370 inches. Overall length is 4.2520 inches, and the 0.6250-inch shank seats directly into a standard milling chuck or collet holder. This tool is installed and operated by machinists and CNC programmers working in precision machining environments.
This thread mill is suited for CNC machining centers performing internal thread milling on workpieces requiring 1-8 UNC threads with a minimum nominal bore diameter of 1.0000 inch. Thread milling is preferred over tapping in hard materials, blind holes where chip evacuation is critical, or applications requiring close thread tolerance control. The helical flute design and TiCN coating support use in steel, alloy steel, cast iron, and similar materials at appropriate cutting parameters. Coolant-through capability is not available on this tool; flood or mist coolant applied externally at the cutting zone is recommended.

This tool is installed and programmed by qualified machinists or CNC tooling technicians. Power down and lock out the machining center spindle before loading or unloading the tool from the toolholder. Secure the shank to the full recommended gauge length in the collet or chuck before tightening to manufacturer torque specifications for the toolholder type in use. Program helical interpolation at conservative entry feed rates and verify thread pitch and lead in the CAM output before first-part cuts.
