The GUHRING 9041150180000 is an 18mm carbide replaceable tip drill from the Series 4115 line, designed for high-performance drilling in demanding metalworking applications. The drill features a solid carbide tip with a 140-degree included angle and a nano-A PVD coating applied through a physical vapor deposition process. The relieved cone insert geometry and size-180 insert seat are engineered for repeatable tip seating and consistent hole quality. This tool is used primarily by machinists and toolroom technicians working with difficult-to-machine materials in production environments.
The 9041150180000 is rated for primary use in stainless steel (ISO material code M) and is also suited for superalloys and titanium (ISO codes H, P, and S). The manufacturer grade is listed as K/P, indicating suitability across a range of cutting conditions. The replaceable tip design allows the carbide insert to be swapped without replacing the steel shank body, making it a cost-effective option for shops running high-cycle drilling programs. Typical applications include component drilling in aerospace, medical, and general precision machining environments.
Designed for use with GUHRING Series 4115 replaceable tip drill shank bodies accepting size-180 insert seats. Verify shank body insert seat size before ordering tip replacements.
Replaceable tip drills should be installed and removed by a qualified machinist using the correct torque wrench and manufacturer-specified tooling key — do not use improvised tools on the insert seat. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out before changing the carbide tip. Inspect the insert seat for chips, debris, or wear before seating a new tip, as contamination will affect runout and tip seating accuracy. Follow the machine tool manufacturer and tooling manufacturer guidelines for clamping torque and surface condition of the mating cone.
