The GUHRING 9041150155000 is a Series 4115 carbide replaceable tip drill designed for precision drilling in demanding metalworking applications. The cutting tip is solid carbide with a nano-A PVD coating applied via physical vapor deposition, providing enhanced wear resistance and surface lubricity. The drill features a 140-degree included angle and a relieved cone insert geometry engineered to reduce cutting forces at entry and maintain dimensional accuracy through the cut. At 15.5mm in diameter, this drill is suited for production and toolroom environments where tip changeability reduces downtime and tooling cost versus solid-body drills. Licensed machinists and CNC operators are the primary users.
This drill is intended for cutting stainless steel as its primary workpiece material, with secondary capability in superalloys and titanium. The Series 4115 platform is built around challenging materials that demand sharp, wear-resistant geometry and stable tool engagement. The insert seat size is 155, and the functional length measures 9.80mm. No through-coolant is supplied via the body, so external or flood coolant application is the standard approach for chip evacuation and heat management in these material groups.
Designed for use with GUHRING Series 4115 replaceable tip drill bodies accepting insert seat size 155. Primary workpiece material is stainless steel (ISO material code M); secondary workpiece materials include superalloys and titanium (ISO codes H, P, and S).
Replaceable tip drills should be installed by a machinist or toolroom technician following the machine tool manufacturer and tooling manufacturer torque and seating procedures for the Series 4115 body. Ensure the spindle is locked out and the machine is fully de-energized before tip removal or installation. Inspect the insert seat for chips, debris, or damage before seating a new tip, as contamination in the cone seat will directly affect runout and tip retention. No through-coolant is present in this configuration, so verify that external coolant delivery is adequate for the workpiece material before committing to a production cycle.
