The GUHRING 9041120165000 is a replaceable carbide drill tip designed for use with modular drilling systems that accept Series 4112 insert-style tooling. The tip is manufactured from solid carbide and features a 140-degree, two-facet point geometry with helical flutes and a web-thinned design to reduce entry thrust and improve chip evacuation. A nano-FIREX PVD coating provides elevated heat and wear resistance during high-feed drilling operations. The cutting diameter is 16.00 mm (0.6496 inches), and the tip is suited for machine shop environments where indexable drill tips are swapped at the spindle without removing the drill body from the machine.
This tip is intended for drilling steel and stainless steel as primary workpiece materials, with secondary suitability for cast iron. Insert Seat Size 165 matches the corresponding Series 4112 drill body shank. The two-flute, regular-spiral geometry supports chip clearance in through-hole and blind-hole applications at moderate-to-high cutting speeds. It is appropriate for CNC machining centers, turning centers with live tooling, and dedicated drilling machines used in production and job-shop settings. The clamp-and-screw insert holding method ensures repeatable seating and axial positioning at each tip change.
Designed for use with Series 4112 modular drill bodies that accept Insert Seat Size 165. Primary workpiece materials are steel (Grade P) and stainless steel (Grade M), with secondary suitability for cast iron (Grade K).
Installation of replaceable drill tips is performed by machining technicians following the drill body manufacturer torque and seating procedures for the Series 4112 clamp-and-screw interface. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool is secured in a holding fixture before removing or installing the insert tip. Inspect the insert seat for chips or debris before seating the new tip to ensure proper contact and runout. Follow applicable shop safety procedures and machine guarding requirements during all tooling changes.
