The GUHRING 9041120158700 is a replaceable tip carbide drill designed for precision hole-making in ferrous and stainless steel applications. It features a solid carbide tip with a nano-FIREX PVD coating that reduces heat buildup and extends tool life in demanding production environments. The tip measures 15.87 mm (0.6250 inch) in cutting diameter and 9.8 mm in functional length. The 2-facet insert geometry provides clean entry geometry for consistent, repeatable hole quality. This drill is intended for use by machinists and tooling technicians in CNC and manual drilling operations where carbide performance is required without full solid carbide tooling cost.
This drill is suited for production drilling in steel (ISO material code P) and stainless steel (ISO material code K and M). The replaceable tip design allows operators to swap worn or damaged inserts without discarding the full drill body, reducing tooling cost per hole. It fits applications in metal fabrication shops, job shops, and manufacturing cells where Series 4112 tooling is already in use. The insert seat size is 155, and the grade is DK460UF with a material classification of K20/K40, making it well matched to harder, abrasion-resistant workpiece materials.
Designed for use with GUHRING Series 4112 replaceable tip drill bodies accepting insert seat size 155. Intended for primary use in steel (P) and secondary use in stainless steel (K and M) workpiece materials as specified by the manufacturer.
Insert installation and removal should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician with the drill body fully removed from the spindle and the machine powered down and locked out. Use the appropriate GUHRING torx or hex key as specified for the Series 4112 body to seat the tip securely before resuming operation. Do not force or hammer the insert into the seat. Confirm runout and seating with an indicator before taking a production cut.
