The GUHRING 9039550190500 is a spiral flute tap designed for cutting internal threads in alloyed and unalloyed steel. Built from cobalt high-speed steel with a TiN (titanium nitride) coating, it delivers extended tool life in demanding production threading applications. The 40-degree helix angle and fast flute style evacuate chips upward and away from the cutting zone, making this tap well suited for blind-hole and modified bottoming work. With a 2B class of fit and a 3/4-16 UNF thread form, it produces threads to standard tolerance for general mechanical assemblies. Coolant-through capability supports high-feed-rate operations on CNC machining centers and production lathes.
This tap is intended for threading 3/4-16 UNF holes in alloyed steel and unalloyed steel workpieces. The modified bottoming chamfer allows threading close to the bottom of a blind hole while still providing enough lead to start cleanly. It is used in metalworking shops, manufacturing facilities, and maintenance environments where consistent, on-size UNF threads are required. A licensed machinist or toolroom technician typically installs and operates this tool in a tapping machine, CNC machining center, or manual drill press equipped with a tapping head.
Designed for threading 3/4-16 UNF holes in alloyed steel and unalloyed steel. Suitable for use with standard 3/4-16 UNF tapping chucks and holders that accept a 0.590-inch shank diameter with a 0.442-inch square drive.
This tap is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician using a tapping chuck, CNC rigid tapping spindle, or manual tapping head. Ensure the workpiece is securely fixtured and the tap is properly aligned with the pre-drilled pilot hole before beginning the threading cycle. Coolant-through tooling connections should be verified and leak-checked before operation. Always follow the machine manufacturer and applicable shop safety guidelines when handling cutting tools.
