The GUHRING 9038990015000 is a solid carbide micro drill bit designed for precision drilling in ferrous and cast materials. Built to Series 3899 standards, it features a 140-degree faceted point angle and a TiAlN coating for extended tool life in demanding applications. The drill runs a right-hand cut with a regular spiral flute and a web-thinned point to reduce thrust and improve chip evacuation. Overall length is 38 mm with a 10 mm flute length and a maximum drilling depth of 7.75 mm. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 3 mm in diameter with an h7 tolerance. This bit is used by machinists, tool and die technicians, and precision fabricators working in controlled drilling environments.
The 9038990015000 is suited for close-tolerance micro drilling in cast iron and steel workpieces. The 1.5 mm diameter and 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it appropriate for small-feature drilling in production machining, tool and die work, and precision component fabrication. The TiAlN coating supports higher cutting speeds and elevated-temperature resistance compared to uncoated carbide. It is sold individually and is intended for use in CNC machining centers or precision drill presses where runout control and rigid fixturing are maintained.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and production micro drill for use in CNC machining centers, precision drill presses, and multi-spindle drilling equipment capable of accepting a 3 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel.
Installation and use of this micro drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Before changing tooling, confirm the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is locked out per facility safety procedures. Use a precision collet or drill chuck rated for 3 mm shank diameters to minimize runout. Avoid side-loading or using this bit as a reamer, as carbide micro drills are brittle and susceptible to breakage under lateral stress.
