The GUHRING 9038920045000 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It features a 4.5 mm cutting diameter, a 0.07 mm chamfer width at a 45-degree chamfer angle, and three flutes with a variable helix geometry designed to reduce chatter and improve surface finish in roughing operations. The FIREX PVD coating - a combined TiAlN and TiN multilayer system - extends tool life in high-temperature cutting environments. At 57 mm overall length with an 18 mm reach and a 4.30 mm neck diameter, this end mill is built for extended-reach applications where rigidity and clearance are both required. It is centercutting and suitable for plunging and recessing.
This end mill is intended for use by machinists and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machining centers. It is suited for shouldering, slotting, ramp-down milling, helical interpolation, drill-mill operations, and plunging and recessing in steel and stainless steel as primary workpiece materials. Cast iron and non-ferrous metals are listed as secondary compatible workpiece materials. The coarse pitch and variable helix make it particularly effective in roughing passes where chip evacuation and vibration damping are critical. The Weldon flat shank provides a secure mechanical lock in compatible tool holders.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers with 6 mm Weldon flat tool holders. Primary workpiece materials are steel (P), stainless steel (M), superalloys, and titanium (S). Secondary workpiece materials include cast iron (K) and non-ferrous metals (N). Belongs to GUHRING Series 3892.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician familiar with CNC tooling setup. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer is disabled before inserting or removing the end mill from the holder. Seat the Weldon flat fully against the set screw and torque the set screw to the tool holder specification - do not exceed the holder manufacturer's rated clamping torque. Verify runout with a dial indicator before commencing cutting operations, as excess runout will accelerate tool wear and reduce chamfer accuracy.
