The GUHRING 9037360160000 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance material removal in ferrous and hard-material machining applications. Built on GUHRING Series 3736, it features a 5/8 inch (0.6300 inch) cutting diameter, a 1.26 inch length of cut, and four spiral flutes with a variable helix geometry. The variable helix angles of 35 and 38 degrees reduce harmonic vibration and chatter during cutting, improving surface finish and tool life. FIREX coating provides enhanced heat resistance and wear protection, making this end mill well suited for demanding cutting conditions in steel and cast iron. It is a single-end, centercutting tool, allowing plunge entry into workpieces.
This end mill is intended for use in CNC milling centers and manual mills where precision metal removal in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, and hard materials is required. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 0.6299 inch (16.00 mm) diameter fits standard collet chucks and end mill holders. The overall length is 92.00 mm, and the reach length is 42.00 mm, making it appropriate for moderate-depth cavity and profile milling. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals in production and job-shop environments are the primary users of this tool.
Designed for use in standard straight-cylindrical collet chucks and end mill holders accepting a 16.00 mm or 5/8 inch shank. Primary workpiece materials are cast iron and steel; secondary materials include stainless steel and hard materials per GUHRING material codes K, P, H, M, and S.
Installation and tool changes must be performed with the machine spindle fully stopped and locked out per applicable machine safety procedures. Ensure the collet or tool holder is clean and free of debris before seating the shank, and tighten to the tool holder manufacturer specifications. Verify runout with a dial indicator before production cutting, as excessive runout accelerates wear on carbide tooling. Cutting parameters including feed rate, depth of cut, and spindle speed should be set according to GUHRING published speeds and feeds for this series and workpiece material.
