The GUHRING 9031880095200 is a solid carbide roughing end mill designed for high-material-removal milling operations on machining centers and CNC mills. Built on GUHRING Series 3188, it features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter and a 7/8 inch length of cut, making it well suited for slotting, peripheral roughing, and plunge cutting in ferrous and non-ferrous materials. The tool carries a FIREX coating, a proprietary multi-layer physical vapor deposition finish that improves wear resistance and heat dissipation at the cutting edge. With four right-hand flutes and a centercutting geometry, it handles both ramping and plunge entry without a separate pilot hole.
This end mill is intended for production and job-shop environments where tool life and cutting efficiency on roughing passes are the priority. The straight cylindrical shank with an h6 tolerance fits standard ER and set-screw tool holders without modification. At 2-1/2 inches overall length and a regular length classification, it fits most standard tooling setups without requiring extended-reach adapters. Machinists and tool-and-die professionals working in general-purpose milling applications will find this a direct fit for roughing operations before a finishing pass.
Designed as an OEM-specification solid carbide roughing end mill for use in standard 3/8 inch bore ER collet chucks, milling chucks, and set-screw holders on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician. Ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in an E-stop or powered-down state before changing tooling. Seat the shank to the full recommended gauge-line depth in the holder and torque the collet nut or set screw per the tool holder manufacturer specification. Inspect the cutting edges and coating for chips or damage before each use, as a damaged edge on a carbide tool can fracture under load.
