The GUHRING 9031790063500 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill designed for high-performance finishing operations in ferrous and non-ferrous machining. It features a 1/4 inch diameter, six flutes, and a 45-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and surface finish quality. The tool carries a FIREX PVD coating, a TiAlN and TiN multilayer system that extends tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. With a 0.004 inch chamfer width and a 45-degree chamfer angle, it produces consistent edge breaks and chamfers in a single pass. It is centercutting, enabling plunging and ramp-down entry moves. Machinists and CNC programmers install this tool in vertical and horizontal machining centers for precision finishing work.
This end mill is suited for shouldering, slotting, ramp-down milling, helical interpolation, drill-mill operations, and plunging and recessing applications. Primary workpiece materials include steel, stainless steel, cast iron, and superalloys including titanium. Secondary materials include non-ferrous metals and hard materials. The right-hand flute direction and right-hand cutting direction make it compatible with standard CNC spindle configurations. It is classified as a regular-length, close-pitch tool from the Guhring Series 3179 line, targeting finishing-grade material removal with tight dimensional tolerances.
Designed for use with steel, stainless steel, cast iron, superalloys, titanium, non-ferrous metals, and hard materials. Compatible with standard 1/4 inch straight-cylindrical toolholders. Part of Guhring Series 3179.
This tool is installed by machinists and CNC tooling technicians in machining centers using a collet chuck or hydraulic toolholder sized for a 1/4 inch straight shank. Verify runout at the toolholder before production cuts to protect the fine chamfer edge. Confirm spindle direction and programmed entry strategy match the right-hand cutting geometry of this tool. Follow the machine builder and tooling manufacturer feed and speed guidelines for the specific workpiece material being machined.
