The GUHRING 9031730127000 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for high-performance milling in demanding production environments. Built to Series 3173 specifications, this single-end tool features a 0.5-inch cutting diameter, a 1-inch length of cut, and a 45-degree helix angle that promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. The FIREX finish provides enhanced heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in abrasive and high-temperature cutting conditions. With three spiral flutes and a right-hand cut configuration, this end mill delivers consistent performance on a variety of ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. It is installed and run by machinists and toolroom professionals on CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is suited for milling operations on cast iron, stainless steel, and steel workpieces, corresponding to ISO material codes P, M, and K. Secondary material compatibility extends to non-ferrous and superalloy categories. The straight cylindrical shank with a 0.5-inch diameter provides secure tool holding in standard collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit holders. At 3 inches overall length with a standard length type, this tool fits typical reach requirements in general machining and die-mold work without sacrificing rigidity.
Compatible with cast iron, stainless steel, and steel workpieces (ISO material codes P, M, K); secondary compatibility with non-ferrous and superalloy materials (ISO codes N, S). Fits standard 0.5-inch bore collet chucks, end mill holders, and shrink-fit toolholders.
This tool is installed by machinists using CNC machining centers or manual mills equipped with appropriate toolholding. Ensure the machine spindle and toolholder are clean and within runout tolerance before seating the shank. Apply correct clamping torque per the toolholder manufacturer specification. Verify spindle speed and feed rate against the recommended cutting data for the workpiece material before engaging the cut.
