The GUHRING 9031650035700 is a solid carbide ball end mill designed for precision milling operations in metalworking and machining environments. Built on GUHRING Series 3165, it features a 0.1406-inch (9/64-inch) mill diameter, a 0.625-inch (5/8-inch) length of cut, and a 2-inch overall length. The four-flute, single-end geometry paired with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. An applied FIREX coating extends tool life in demanding materials. This end mill is installed and operated by machinists and CNC tool setters working in job shops, production facilities, and precision component manufacturing.
This ball end mill is suited for finishing and semi-finishing passes on ferrous and non-ferrous metals, including cast iron, steel alloys, aluminum, and some superalloy applications. The ultra-fine grain carbide substrate supports tight tolerances and consistent edge integrity at smaller diameters. Right-hand cutting and right-hand flute direction make it compatible with standard CNC milling setups. The regular-length body and matched 9/64-inch shank diameter allow direct chuck or collet installation without extended-reach toolholding.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production tool within the GUHRING Series 3165 ball end mill line. Primary workpiece material codes K, M, N, and P cover cast iron, non-ferrous metals, non-metallic materials, and steel. Secondary workpiece material code S indicates limited suitability for superalloys. Verify collet or chuck compatibility with the 9/64-inch shank diameter before installation.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or CNC setup technicians. Power down and lock out the spindle before inserting or removing any end mill. Seat the shank fully in the collet or chuck and torque the toolholder to the toolholder manufacturer's specification — do not estimate. Confirm runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, particularly at this small diameter where any runout will have a proportionally large effect on tool life and finish quality.
