The GUHRING 9031530095200 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. Built on the Series 3153 platform, it features a 3/8 inch cutting diameter, 1 inch length of cut, and a 2.5 inch overall length with a matching 3/8 inch straight cylindrical shank. The four-flute geometry combined with a 30-degree helix angle promotes efficient chip evacuation and stable cutting action. A FIREX coating provides enhanced wear resistance and thermal stability, extending tool life in demanding applications. This end mill is centercutting, allowing it to plunge directly into the workpiece. It is suited for machinists and toolroom professionals working in CNC machining centers and manual mills.
This end mill is used for slotting, profiling, and contouring operations in cast iron, stainless steel, and steel workpiece materials. The right-hand cut, right-hand spiral flute configuration suits standard spindle rotation in vertical and horizontal milling setups. The regular length type and straight shank make it compatible with standard ER and milling chucks. Secondary material compatibility extends to non-ferrous and superalloy applications. Typical use cases include die and mold work, precision part machining, and general metalworking in job shop and production environments.
Designed for use in standard milling chucks and ER collet systems accepting a 3/8 inch straight shank. Primary workpiece materials include cast iron, stainless steel, and steel; secondary compatibility includes non-ferrous metals and superalloys per material codes N and S.
This tool is installed by a machinist or toolroom technician. Before tool changes, ensure the spindle is fully stopped and the machine is in a safe state per shop lockout procedures. Secure the shank fully within the collet or chuck to the recommended engagement depth and verify runout with a dial indicator before cutting. Avoid side-loading beyond the tool diameter and do not exceed the rated length of cut to prevent deflection or breakage.
