The GUHRING 9031530055600 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision material removal in metalworking applications. It features a 0.2188-inch cutting diameter, a 0.625-inch length of cut, and a 0.25-inch straight cylindrical shank. The 4-flute geometry paired with a 30-degree spiral helix promotes efficient chip evacuation and smooth surface finishes. A FIREX coating enhances wear resistance and heat management during high-performance cutting. This end mill is center-cutting and runs a right-hand flute with right-hand cut direction, making it suitable for conventional milling operations on ferrous and difficult-to-machine materials. It is installed by machinists and tool-and-die professionals on CNC machining centers and manual knee mills.
This end mill is intended for use in applications involving cast iron, stainless steel, and steel workpieces, covering material grades classified under P, M, and K categories. The regular-length configuration and 2.5-inch overall length make it well suited for standard-depth pocketing, slotting, and peripheral milling operations in production and job-shop environments. No coolant-through capability is present, so flood or mist coolant applied externally is the typical cooling method. The Series 3153 designation identifies it within the GUHRING product line as a straight-shank solid carbide end mill built for general-purpose ferrous and alloy steel cutting.
Designed for use on cast iron, stainless steel, and steel workpieces. Compatible with standard 0.25-inch collets and tool holders on CNC machining centers and manual milling machines. Belongs to GUHRING Series 3153.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine in a full stop and locked-out state per applicable lockout/tagout procedures. The straight cylindrical shank requires a properly sized collet or end mill holder torqued to the machine tool manufacturer's specification. Inspect the collet and holder bore for wear or contamination before seating the tool. Do not exceed the manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material being cut.
