The GUHRING 9031480015900 is a solid carbide square end mill designed for precision milling in demanding production environments. Part of the Series 3148 lineup, it features a 0.0625 inch cutting diameter, a 0.1875 inch length of cut, and a 1.5 inch overall length. The 2-flute, right-hand spiral geometry runs at a 30-degree helix angle, promoting efficient chip evacuation and smooth cutting action. A FIREX coating provides elevated heat and wear resistance, extending tool life in harder materials. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool with a straight cylindrical shank measuring 0.125 inches in diameter.
This end mill is suited for slotting, profiling, and finishing passes in small-feature machining applications. The 30-degree helix and FIREX coating make it particularly effective in cast iron, non-ferrous metals, aluminum, stainless steel, and similar materials covered under workpiece material codes K, M, N, P, and S. It is commonly used in CNC machining centers and manual mills where tight tolerances and fine detail work are required. The compact 0.0625 inch diameter makes it a go-to choice for micro-milling and intricate cavity work.
Compatible with workpiece material codes K, M, N, P, and S, covering cast iron, stainless steel, non-ferrous metals, aluminum, and high-temperature alloys. Designed for use in standard 0.125 inch toolholders on CNC machining centers and conventional milling machines.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following shop safety procedures. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and locked out before changing tooling. Secure the shank in a clean, properly sized collet or toolholder to the manufacturer-recommended clamping depth to prevent pullout. Avoid side-loading the tool beyond its rated cutting diameter, especially at this scale, as solid carbide micro end mills are brittle and susceptible to breakage under excessive lateral force.
