The GUHRING 9030960127000 is a solid carbide corner chamfer end mill engineered for demanding metal removal in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, superalloys, and titanium. It carries a 0.5 inch mill diameter, a 1 inch length of cut, and four flutes with a variable flute type and a 40-degree high helix angle. The FIREX PVD coating - a TiAlN/TiN multilayer - provides elevated heat and wear resistance during high-speed roughing and finishing operations. This is a single-end, center-cutting tool with a 45-degree chamfer angle and a 0.01 inch chamfer width, making it suitable for edge preparation as well as full milling cycles. Machinists and toolroom operators working in production or job-shop environments are the primary users.
This end mill is suited for a wide range of milling operations on ferrous and hard materials. Its right-hand cut and right-hand flute direction are standard for conventional CNC machining centers and manual mills. Designated operations include shouldering, slotting, ramp-down entry, helical interpolation, drill milling, plunging, and recessing. The Weldon flat shank provides positive drive and minimizes pull-out risk in high-load cuts. It is appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes without a tool change, reducing setup time in production workflows.
Designed for use in CNC machining centers and manual mills accepting 1/2 inch Weldon flat shank toolholders. Primary workpiece materials are steel and cast iron (ISO P and K classifications); secondary materials include stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials (ISO M, S, and H classifications). Part of the GUHRING Series 3096.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or toolroom technician. Secure the Weldon flat shank firmly in a matched Weldon-style toolholder and verify runout before beginning a cut. Power down and lock out the spindle before loading or unloading the tool. Do not exceed the tool manufacturer's recommended speeds and feeds for the workpiece material and coating classification.
