The GUHRING 9030800158700 is a solid carbide square end mill engineered for precision metal removal in demanding machining environments. Built to Series 3080 specifications, this single-end mill features a 5/8 inch cutting diameter, a 1.25 inch length of cut, and a 3.5 inch overall length. The variable helix geometry — with flute angles ranging from 36 to 38 degrees — reduces harmonic vibration and improves chip evacuation at higher feed rates. The nano-A coating provides enhanced wear resistance and surface lubricity, making this tool well suited for aggressive cuts in stainless steel and steel. A licensed machinist or CNC tooling specialist is the typical end user.
This end mill is designed for milling stainless steel and steel as primary workpiece materials, with cast iron listed as a secondary compatible material. The 5/8 inch Weldon flat shank seats securely in standard end mill holders and milling chucks. The centercutting design allows for plunge operations in addition to peripheral and slot milling. Right-hand cut and right-hand spiral flutes are standard, making this tool compatible with conventional CNC machining center spindle configurations in both roughing and finishing passes.
Designed for use on stainless steel and steel as primary workpiece materials (ISO material codes M, P, and S), with secondary compatibility for cast iron (ISO material code K). Accepts standard 5/8 inch end mill holders with Weldon flat retention. Mill diameter tolerance is h10; shank diameter tolerance is h6.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist or CNC setup technician. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and the tool changer or turret is locked out before inserting or removing the tool. Seat the Weldon flat shank fully into the holder and torque the set screw per the toolholder manufacturer's specification. Verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a production cut, as excessive runout accelerates edge wear on solid carbide tooling.
