The GUHRING 9030790158740 is a solid carbide corner radius end mill designed for demanding metal removal and finishing operations in professional machining environments. Built on GUHRING Series 3079, it features a 5/8 inch diameter with a 0.031 inch corner radius, four flutes, and a variable helix and variable index geometry that reduces harmonic vibration during cuts. The FIREX coating provides high surface hardness and oxidation resistance for extended tool life in ferrous and hard material applications. This single-end, right-hand cutting tool is suited for machinists and toolroom professionals running CNC mills and machining centers in production and job shop settings.
This end mill is engineered for use in steel, cast iron, stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials. The 1-1/4 inch length of cut and 3-1/2 inch overall length make it well suited for moderate-depth slotting, profiling, and finishing passes where corner radius geometry is required to reduce stress concentrations at part features. The Weldon flat shank is compatible with standard end mill holders and provides positive rotational drive. It is appropriate for both roughing and finishing passes depending on feed and speed parameters selected for the workpiece material.
Designed for use with standard end mill holders. Primary workpiece materials include steel and cast iron. Secondary workpiece materials include stainless steel, superalloys, titanium, and hard materials.
Installation should be performed by a qualified machinist following the tool holder and machine tool manufacturer guidelines. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and all energy is locked out before changing tooling. Seat the Weldon flat securely against the set screw in the end mill holder and verify runout with a dial indicator before beginning a cut. Do not exceed the tool manufacturers recommended feeds, speeds, or depth of cut for the workpiece material.
