The GUHRING 9026010063500 is a solid carbide jobber-length drill bit sized to Letter E (0.2500 inch / 1/4 inch) with a 130-degree drill point angle. Built from submicron-grade solid carbide with a bright, uncoated finish, it features a parabolic flute geometry that promotes chip evacuation and reduces built-up edge during cutting. The straight-cylindrical shank matches the 0.2500-inch bit diameter for straightforward chuck mounting. This bit is designed for right-hand cutting and is manufactured to ANSI standards. Machinists, tool-and-die tradespeople, and production drillers install this type of bit in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools where precision hole tolerances are required.
This bit is primarily suited for drilling aluminum and non-ferrous materials, consistent with workpiece material codes K, N, and P. Its parabolic flute design and web-thinned point reduce thrust requirements, making it well-suited for through-hole and moderate-depth drilling in production and maintenance environments. The Series 2601 designation places it within GUHRING's standard jobber-length carbide program. With an 8xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 2.4360 inches, it handles typical jobber-length applications without requiring extended-reach tooling.
Designed as an OEM-style jobber-length drill bit for use with standard 1/4-inch drill chucks and collets in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and compatible hand-held drilling equipment. Primary workpiece material compatibility is aluminum and non-ferrous materials (material codes K, N, P).
Installation and operation should be performed by a qualified machinist or tooling technician familiar with rotating cutting tools. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in a properly sized collet or drill chuck before operation, and verify runout before beginning a production run. Always power down and lock out the machine spindle before changing tooling. Solid carbide bits are brittle compared to HSS; avoid side loading, interrupted cuts without proper feed adjustments, or dropping the bit on hard surfaces.
