The GUHRING 9024640103200 is a jobber length drill bit engineered for precision drilling in non-ferrous and light alloy materials. Built from solid carbide grade K40, this bit carries a FIREX coating that reduces heat buildup and extends cutting life in demanding production environments. The drill measures 13/32 inches (0.4062 inches decimal) in diameter with a 118-degree faceted point angle and a web-thinned tip for cleaner entry and reduced thrust. Overall length is 5.24 inches (133 mm) with a flute length of 3.43 inches (87 mm). It is intended for use by machinists, maintenance technicians, and tool-and-die professionals working on CNC machines or manual drill presses.
This drill bit is designed primarily for aluminum and other non-ferrous workpiece materials, consistent with its N-category material code and FIREX coating selection. The straight-cylindrical shank with a 10.32 mm diameter seats directly into standard drill chucks or collet holders without adapters. The regular spiral flute geometry and 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio make it well suited for through-hole and blind-hole applications in production or job-shop settings where consistent hole tolerance is required. Maximum drilling depth is 2.816 inches (71.52 mm).
Designed as a general-purpose jobber length carbide drill bit suited for use in CNC machining centers, manual drill presses, and similar setups that accept a straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and comparable non-ferrous alloys as defined by material code N.
Installation is performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians. Ensure the machine spindle is fully stopped and de-energized before inserting or removing the bit from the chuck or collet holder. Confirm the shank is fully seated and the chuck or collet is torqued to the machine manufacturer specification before operation. Coolant-through is not supported on this bit; use external coolant or cutting fluid as appropriate for the workpiece material and cutting speed.
