The GUHRING 9024640100000 is a jobber-length drill bit engineered for precision drilling in non-ferrous materials, particularly aluminum. Built from solid carbide grade K40, the bit carries a FIREX coating that extends tool life under demanding cycle conditions. The 118-degree faceted point angle provides clean entry geometry, while the web-thinned design reduces thrust requirements at the start of the cut. At 5.24 inches overall length with an 87 mm (3.43-inch) spiral flute, this is a standard jobber-length geometry suitable for general-purpose production and maintenance drilling. Licensed HVAC, industrial, and mechanical tradespeople commonly stock this size for aluminum plate, tube, and sheet work.
This drill bit is intended for use in aluminum and other non-ferrous workpiece materials designated under material code N. Its two-flute regular spiral design promotes efficient chip evacuation in these materials. The 10 mm diameter and straight-cylindrical shank allow direct chuck mounting in standard drill presses, CNC machining centers, and handheld power drills with a compatible keyless or keyed chuck. The flute-by-diameter ratio of 5xD supports drilling to a maximum depth of 72 mm (2.84 inches) per the Series 2464 design specification under DIN standard.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit compatible with any standard drill press, machining center, or handheld drill equipped with a chuck accommodating a 10 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material designation is aluminum and non-ferrous materials (material code N).
Installation and use of this drill bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tradespeople familiar with rotating cutting tools. Ensure the drill chuck is fully seated and tightened before operation, and confirm spindle speed is appropriate for the workpiece material and diameter. Do not exceed the maximum rated drilling depth of 72 mm per plunge without retracting to clear chips. Eye protection and appropriate workholding are required any time this tool is in use.
