The GUHRING 9024640099200 is a solid carbide jobber length drill bit designed for precision drilling in non-ferrous and light-alloy materials. Built to DIN specification under Series 2464, this bit features a 118-degree faceted point angle and a FIREX coating that improves surface hardness and wear resistance in high-cycle production environments. It cuts right-hand with a regular spiral flute geometry and incorporates web thinning at the tip to reduce thrust and improve chip clearance. At 5.24 inches overall length with a 3.43-inch flute, it fits standard jobber-length toolholders. Licensed machinists, tool-and-die shops, and precision fabricators are the primary installers.
This drill bit is rated for aluminum and other non-ferrous workpiece materials, corresponding to material code N. The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and web-thinned point make it well-suited for through-hole and blind-hole applications in aluminum plate, extrusions, and castings. The straight-cylindrical shank at 9.92 mm diameter seats directly into standard drill chucks and collet-style toolholders without an adapter. It is a general-purpose performer appropriate for both manual drill press work and CNC machining center applications where consistent hole quality and diameter tolerance are required.
Designed as an OEM-specification jobber length drill bit for use in standard drill chucks and collet toolholders accepting a straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material compatibility is aluminum and non-ferrous alloys per material code N.
Installation and use of this bit should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians familiar with carbide tooling. Carbide is brittle and must be secured firmly in a properly sized chuck or collet before operation to prevent runout-induced breakage. Ensure the spindle and toolholder are clean and free of chips before seating the shank. Do not use this bit for interrupted cuts or on hardened ferrous materials, as carbide is not rated for impact loading outside its designed application range.
