The GUHRING 9024640049200 is a jobber-length drill bit in wire gauge size 10 (0.1935 inches), manufactured from solid carbide and finished with a FIREX coating. It features a 118-degree faceted point angle, a two-flute regular spiral configuration, and a web-thinned tip for reduced thrust during entry. The straight-cylindrical shank measures 4.92 mm in diameter and seats cleanly in standard drill chucks and collet holders. With an overall length of 3.39 inches (86 mm) and a flute length of 2.05 inches (52 mm), this bit is sized for precision hole-making in production and maintenance environments. Licensed machinists and trade technicians handling light-metal fabrication and assembly work are the primary users.
This drill bit is rated for general-purpose drilling with a primary workpiece material designation of aluminum and non-ferrous metals (material code N). The 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio supports efficient chip evacuation in through-hole and blind-hole applications at moderate depths. Maximum drilling depth is 1.757 inches (44.62 mm). It conforms to DIN specification designation and falls within the Series 2464 product family from GUHRING. Coolant-through capability is not included in this configuration, so external coolant or cutting fluid should be applied as needed for the workpiece material.
Designed as a general-purpose jobber-length drill bit for use in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and hand-held power tools equipped with collet or keyed chucks accepting a 4.92 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Primary workpiece material is aluminum and non-ferrous metals per Series 2464 application guidelines.
Installation and tool changes should be performed with the machine fully powered down and the spindle at rest. Secure the straight-cylindrical shank firmly in the collet or chuck to the full recommended engagement depth before operating. Machinists should apply appropriate cutting fluid or external coolant when drilling aluminum to manage heat and chip removal, as this bit does not include coolant-through capability. Inspect the cutting edges and FIREX coating before each use and remove the bit from service if chipping or coating loss is observed.
