The GUHRING 9024630110000 is a screw machine length (stub) solid carbide drill bit designed for precise, high-performance drilling in production and shop environments. Built to DIN 6539 standards from K40 carbide grade, it has a 11 mm (0.4331 inches) diameter with a 118-degree faceted drill point and web-thinned tip geometry that reduces entry force and improves centering. The straight-cylindrical shank seats directly in standard drill chucks and collet holders. The two-flute spiral design with regular helix promotes clean chip evacuation. This bit is suited for machinists, tool-and-die shops, and maintenance technicians who need consistent hole quality in short, rigid setups.
This drill bit is rated as a general purpose tool with a primary workpiece material designation of aluminum, making it well suited for drilling aluminum stock, plate, and castings in machining centers, CNC lathes, and bench drill press applications. The 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio and 1.8500-inch flute length support drilling to a maximum depth of 1.2010 inches (30.50 mm) in a single pass without pecking in most aluminum applications. The stub-length body keeps the tool stiff and minimizes deflection in tight setups or shallow-depth work.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement and standard production tool fitting any drill press, machining center, or CNC spindle that accepts an 11 mm straight-cylindrical shank. Conforms to DIN 6539 for drop-in interchangeability with other Series 2463 tooling.
Install in a properly sized collet, chuck, or tool holder rated for the 11 mm shank diameter and ensure the shank is fully seated and clamped before operation. Confirm spindle RPM and feed rate are appropriate for carbide tooling in the target material before engaging the cut. Solid carbide bits are brittle under side-load or interrupted cuts — avoid flexing or prying during extraction. Inspect the drill point and cutting edges before each use; carbide chipping is not reworkable in the field and the bit should be replaced or returned to a qualified tool grinder.
