The GUHRING 9024630079400 is a stub-length (screw machine length) solid carbide drill bit designed for precision hole-making in production and job-shop environments. Built to DIN 6539 standards from K40 carbide grade, this bit features a 118-degree faceted point angle, a web-thinned tip for reduced entry thrust, and a two-flute right-hand spiral configuration. At 3.11 inches overall length with a 1.457-inch flute length, it is optimized for rigid setups where a shorter tool-to-spindle overhang improves accuracy and reduces chatter. Licensed machinists and tooling technicians are the primary users.
This drill bit is rated for general-purpose drilling with a primary workpiece material of aluminum, though its solid carbide construction makes it well-suited for other non-ferrous metals and engineered plastics at appropriate cutting parameters. The straight-cylindrical shank diameter of 7.94 mm fits standard drill chucks and collet holders. A 3xD maximum flute-by-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 0.988 inches make it best suited for shallow-to-mid-depth holes in CNC machining centers, drill presses, and manual mills where chip clearance is not a limiting constraint.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-use tooling for standard straight-cylindrical drill chucks and collet systems accepting a 7.94 mm shank; fits drill presses, CNC machining centers, and manual mills configured for stub-length carbide tooling.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by qualified machinists or tooling technicians with the spindle fully powered down and locked out per facility lockout/tagout procedures. Ensure the chuck or collet is clean and free of debris before seating the straight-cylindrical shank to prevent runout. Solid carbide tooling is brittle — avoid side loads or interrupted cuts beyond the tool's rated capacity, and do not use in hand-held drilling applications. Verify cutting parameters (speed, feed, coolant) against the workpiece material before operation.
