The GUHRING 9024630054000 is a solid carbide stub-length drill bit engineered for precision drilling in demanding production environments. It measures 5.40mm (0.2126 inches) in diameter with an overall length of 2.598 inches and a flute length of 1.102 inches. The 118-degree faceted drill point and web-thinned geometry reduce entry force and improve centering accuracy. With a right-hand spiral flute and straight-cylindrical shank, this bit is suited for CNC machining centers, drill presses, and screw machine applications where tight tolerances and consistent hole quality are required. It conforms to DIN 6539 and carries a K40 carbide grade designation.
This drill bit is intended for use in high-production and precision machining environments, primarily targeting aluminum as the primary workpiece material, though its solid carbide construction and coated finish make it capable across a range of non-ferrous and light ferrous materials. The stub-length (screw machine length) body limits deflection and increases rigidity compared to jobber-length equivalents, making it well suited for short-hole drilling operations where accuracy and repeatability are priorities. It is sold individually and is a direct fit for Series 2463 toolholding setups.
Designed as an OEM-style replacement or direct-fit tool for GUHRING Series 2463 stub-length carbide drill applications. Maximum drilling depth is 0.783 inches (19.90mm) at a 3xD flute-to-diameter ratio.
Installation and tool changes should be performed by a qualified machinist with the machine powered down and locked out per applicable safety procedures. Verify shank diameter and collet or chuck size match before seating the bit. Avoid side-loading the drill during operation, as carbide is brittle and susceptible to fracture under lateral stress. Follow the machine manufacturer and tooling supplier recommendations for spindle speed and feed rate based on workpiece material.
