The GUHRING 9024580103200 is a cobalt jobber-length drill bit designed for demanding metal-cutting applications where standard high-speed steel tooling falls short. Coated with FIREX for enhanced heat resistance and wear life, this drill measures 13/32 inch (0.4062 inch) in diameter with a 130-degree point angle suited for self-centering entry. The overall length is 133.00 mm with a flute length of 87.00 mm. A web-thinned point reduces thrust force at the start of the cut. The straight-cylindrical shank (10.32 mm diameter) fits standard drill chucks and collets. This is a two-flute, right-hand spiral bit manufactured to DIN 338 standards and rated for high-performance use in production and maintenance environments. Licensed tradespeople and toolroom machinists are the primary users.
This drill bit is engineered primarily for titanium alloy workpieces (ISO material code M and S), where cobalt substrate and FIREX coating maintain cutting-edge integrity at elevated temperatures. The 130-degree point angle and web-thinned geometry reduce walking and work-hardening on difficult materials. With a 5xD flute-to-diameter ratio and a maximum drilling depth of 71.52 mm (2.816 inch), it handles through-hole and blind-hole operations in aerospace, industrial maintenance, and fabrication settings. The h8 diameter tolerance supports accurate hole sizing without reaming in many applications.
Designed for use in titanium alloy and other hard, heat-resistant materials (ISO material groups M and S). Fits any drill press, CNC machining center, or handheld drill with a chuck capacity accepting a 0.4063-inch straight-cylindrical shank. Conforms to DIN 338 geometry standards.
This drill bit is installed by machinists and toolroom technicians in drill presses, lathes, or CNC machining centers. Secure the shank fully in the chuck or collet before starting the spindle. When drilling titanium alloys, use appropriate cutting fluid and avoid dwelling to prevent work hardening. Inspect the cutting edge for wear before each use, as cobalt tooling subjected to excessive heat can develop micro-chipping that reduces hole quality.
